A stone house in Sri Lanka

New homes for families who lost theirs in the civil war.

A new house of concrete blocks with a corrugated iron roof, in Sri Lanka

Situation

During the civil war in Sri Lanka, many people lost their homes. Years later, some families still live in corrugated iron huts, with little protection from heat and rain.

Plan

People we know personally started a project to build new stone houses for these families. They organise the help on the ground. We support this remarkable initiative.

The photos show the difference: from a corrugated iron hut to a solid stone house.

Final goal

A solid, safe home for every family in the project.
